SUPPORT YOUNG DANCER.
Hi, I am Sean-Hobbs Waters, I am a 16-year-old dancer. I mainly do Ballet but I also do Contemporary. Dance is my passion. I currently dance with a school here in Portland, Steps PDX Dance Academy.
This summer I was accepted into the Dance Theater of Harlem’s (DTH) 2023 summer dance program on full tuition merit scholarship. This year, DTH’s summer intensive will be three business-weeks long and held in New York City from July 10th thru the 28th. In addition to DTH, I will also be traveling to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to attend the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s (RWB) summer program. Their program will be from August 8th to the 19th.
Even though I am on scholarship, there are costs other than tuition associated with going to programs like these. And I am currently fundraising so that I can attend both of these programs. I have been fundraising for the last few months and so far have raised over $10,000, but I still need to raise $1,400 more to make sure that I have enough for both programs. My goal is to have all of this raised by early-July, so that I don’t have to worry about money this summer and can just focus on my training. This will all go towards covering housing, food, new dance wear, airfare costs and any other incidentals.
